Every week Reddit’s r/privacy and r/SideProject fill with the same complaint: “free” converters quietly upload iPhone HEIC photos, WebP screenshots and PDFs to a random server. CloudConvert, Convertio, TinyPNG, Smallpdf and even big-brand WebP→PNG pages on Adobe Express / Canva all start with an upload.
The gap we shipped
On Base64Encoding.com you can now:
| Need | Private tool |
|---|---|
| HEIC → JPG (Windows / e-mail / CMS) | Image converter |
| WebP → PNG (keep transparency) | Same converter, WebP→PNG preset |
| SVG → PNG | Same converter |
| Merge PDF / images→PDF | Merge PDF |
| Strip GPS before sharing | Strip EXIF |
| Shrink before Base64 | Compress image |
Everything uses Canvas, heic2any and pdf-lib in the browser. After the page loads, turn off Wi‑Fi and convert again—if it still works, nothing left the device. Or watch DevTools → Network: you should not see a large POST of your file.
Why this drives real traffic
Search demand for “HEIC to JPG”, “WebP to PNG”, “SVG to PNG” and “merge PDF online” is enormous. Most ranking pages monetize uploads. Privacy-first alternatives that are honest about the Network-tab test win EU GDPR-minded users, US freelancers sending client proofs, and anyone on prepaid data who refuses to burn megabytes uploading a photo just to download it again.
